In this section, Malcom will gather channel parameters and confirm the algorithm to use for the Product Completeness calculation for the “Online Store” Shopify Sales Channel.
This section will also display your Current Shopify Currency And Primary Locale. If the information shown here is incorrect, please change it in your Shopify Settings before proceeding.
Actions:
- Enter your Setup Completeness parameters.
- Review the information and Click on “Next” to proceed to the next step.
Akeneo Channel:
Description: The channel in Akeneo defines the selection of products and information to export. A channel can be a website, a print catalog, a mobile application, or a Point of Sale (POS).
Action: Select the desired channel and currency from the dropdown menus to source your products for synchronization to Shopify.
Currency:
Description: Malcom will display a list of currencies from the selected Akeneo Channel, one of which can be mapped to the default Shopify currency.
Action: Select the currency you wish to use for your Shopify store. Note:
- Ensure that the Shopify-based currency matches this selected parameter.
- Currently, Malcom does not support the Multi-Currency functionality offered by Shopify Markets.
Akeneo and Shopify Locales:
Select your locale from your Akeneo instance from the drop-down menu and map it to its corresponding Shopify locale. Add more locales by clicking on the “+” sign next to the row.
Completeness on Akeneo Engine:
Description: Malcom will check for product completeness using one of the following calculation methods:
- Complete on Selected Locale: Check for completeness of the product in Akeneo and import only those with 100% completeness in the Akeneo Locale that maps to the default Shopify language. Note: Completeness is calculated based on the required attributes for the family.

Attribute-based: Instead of using Akeneo’s product completeness engine, Malcom will check the attribute specified in the “Completeness on attribute” list. Note:
- Malcom will proceed with the product synchronization if the attribute has a “yes” value.
- Only yes/no Akeneo attributes will be displayed for this selection.
- Complete on Selected Locale and Attribute Based: Malcolm will check both the attribute specified in the “Completeness on attribute” list but will only import products that also have 100% completeness in the Akeneo Locale that maps to the default Shopify language.
Completeness on Attribute:
Select the desired completeness calculation method from the dropdown menu and specify an attribute for “Completeness on attribute” if “attribute based” is selected.
Default Product Status:
Select the product status you would like to use as a default. Options are:
- Active
- Draft
Publication Rule:
Select the publication rule you would like Malcom to use. Options are:
- Online Store Only
- Online Store Only & Unpublish From Other Channels
- All Channels
