In this section, Malcom will gather any applicable tag configuration parameters to use for product synchronization of Akeneo Product Model attributes when saving Shopify Products in your Shopify Online and POS Channel (if applicable). Tags are completely optional. If you do not currently need any, feel free to jump ahead to Metafields or Media, as tags can always be added retroactively.
Prefix/Value:
Description: Malcom will enable you to prefix (left column) the selected attribute with alphanumeric or special characters and select a corresponding Akeneo “Value” (right column). Enter your prefixes in the text boxes on the left. Note:
- The prefix has a limit of 20 characters. Malcom will truncate any characters beyond this limit.
- If you require a separator (colon or hyphen) between the prefix and the value, you can include it directly in the Prefix field, and Malcom will use it to create the appropriate tags in Shopify.
- Shopify enforces a length limit of 255 characters for each tag. This limit will apply to your prefix and attribute value combined. If the combination of a prefix and attribute value ends up being longer than 255 characters, it will be truncated.
- There is a limit of 250 tags per product in Shopify.
Action: Add a custom prefix for your Shopify Tag and select a corresponding Akeneo attribute to use as the “Value.” The combination of prefixes and values will create a single tag in Shopify.
Click the “Add Tag” button to add more tags, and click the trash can next to the row you wish to delete to remove unwanted tags.
