In this section, Malcom will gather Product Variant attributes and confirm the mapping parameters to use for Akeneo Product attribute synchronization when saving Shopify Variants in your Shopify Online and POS Channel (if applicable).
Note: This section only applies to “out of the box” Shopify attributes. Metafields will be set up in the next section.
Action: Select the appropriate Akeneo attribute to use as the value for the following variants for your Shopify store:
- Stock Keeping Unit (SKU): Malcom uses a unique “SKU” identifier to identify each product variant for synchronizing a batch of products to your Shopify Store.
- Barcode: Malcom will suggest a list of attributes from your Akeneo instance, which can be mapped as the Product Variant “Barcode” attribute in your Shopify Store.
- Image: Malcom will suggest a list of attributes from your Akeneo instance, which can be mapped as the Product Variant “Image” attribute in your Shopify Store. Note: Within Malcom’s mapping, there is a dropdown to select an Akeneo attribute that will map with Shopify’s variant image. If you select an attribute from Akeneo that is the type of an Asset Collection, each variant image will take the first image that is sorted first in the Asset Collection on Akeneo.
- Image Alt Text: Malcom will enable you to select an Alternate (alt) Image Text for each Akeneo Media attribute. The Image Alt Text in Shopify will be limited to the attribute related to the first image of the Asset Collection, which contains specific Akeneo Attributes to choose from in the dropdown.
- Weight: Malcom will suggest a list of attributes from your Akeneo instance, which can be mapped as the Product Variant “Weight” attribute in your Shopify Store.
- Weight Metric: Malcom will suggest a list of FOUR options: GRAM, KILOGRAM, OUNCE, and POUND to select as the “Weight Metric.” Note: Select the “ignore attribute” option if you would like to keep the default weight options from your Shopify Store.
